With Participants gathered in matching NBA t-shirts, excited to start the walk.
There’s been light rain drops, adding a refreshing touch to the morning walk.
Despite the rain, spirits were high as lawyers match out in numbers.
The health walk remains an important feature of the annual conference symbolising unity, health, and community among the legal fraternity.
A RECAP OF THE NBA/AGC HEALTH WALK.
The NBA/AGC Health Walk kicked off at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) the Conference Arena, setting the tone for a spirited morning despite the light drizzle. Participants, a mix of lawyers, judges, and other professionals, gathered in high spirits, undeterred by the rain. Participants warmed up with stretches and exercises, ready to embark on a route that would take them through the heart of Lagos Island. As they left TBS, their path led them through the historic Tinubu Square and past the iconic CMS, blending the energy of the present with the echoes of the past. The rain added a refreshing touch, and the camaraderie among the participants kept the atmosphere lively and positive.
As the walk progressed, participants were informed about the rich history of some of the landmarks along the route, such as Tinubu Square and CMS, amongst others deepening their connection to the city’s heritage. The group continued the journey, eventually arriving at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, through the Zone 2 Headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force, Onikan. The shared knowledge and experience adding to the sense of community, making the health walk both an educational and unifying event.
Upon arriving at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, the health walk participants were greeted by the sounds of cheering and excitement from the football field. There, the female football teams of the NBA’s Abuja and Lagos branches were fiercely competing in a semi-final match . A game that the Abuja branch won by a goal.
The health walk concluded on a high note as the participants gathered at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena where they were entertained with lively music and treated to light refreshments. The joyous atmosphere continued with laughter and conversations, as everyone enjoyed the camaraderie of the morning’s activities. As the music played on, participants began to disperse, with conferees heading back to their various hotel accommodations and Lagos residents making their way home. There was a sense of anticipation in the air as everyone looked forward to the next event on the agenda: the Chief Judge’s Welcome Cocktail, scheduled to take place later in the evening at 6:00 p.m.
