“The Nigerian bar Association through ECNBA has shown what transparency in democratic processes means. The ongoing elections to the various offices of the association are so easy to follow and and they are very transparent. You can not vote more than once. There is no room for manipulations. No ballot stuffing.
The voting is seamless, and there are no glitches of any kind. The results are seen in real times, and even the time each lawyer casts his or her votes is known and seen after voting.
Lawyers are not queuing at polling units to vote. No money is spent in printing ballot papers. No ballot box snatching. Electoral thugs and thuggery are absent. INEC needs to learn from Seun Abimbola SAN led ECNBA.
NBA has shown leadership in this area, and I must commend the leadership of NBA and that of ECNBA for a job well done. Whoever emerges as president of NBA has a job to do in the next two years. Indeed, there are many tasks ahead of him.
