Importance of Jurisdiction; and when it can be raised

by caneadmin

It is trite law that jurisdiction of the court is the live wire and is so fundamental to the adjudication of a suit, that it can be raised at any time, even orally, and for the first even on appeal. Where a court lacks jurisdiction to act, the entire proceedings, however well conducted will amount to an exercise in futility.
